ATGWU Uganda has continued its activities for the Action Week. On 4 October, the union focused on engagement with the traffic police. This is because most of the union’s members from the Kampala Metropolitan Boda Boda Associtaion (KAMBA) and Kampala Operation Stages Association (KOTSA) report persistent harassment by traffic police. The Officer in Charge of traffic at the Kajjansi Police station promised to look into the matter, but also called on the union to always keep them informed of such cases. As a gesture of building a strong relationship the union donated two chairs to the Officer in Charge of the police station.

The union used 5 October as an opportunity to publicise and campaign around the ITF Informal Workers’ Charter. Despite the heavy morning rain in Kampala, there was a march along the Kampala-Entebbe highway, a briefing meeting and a press release.
